SHD5

The caliper type SHD5 is a safety single-spring hydraulical caliper designed
for high speed shaft drives of wind turbines.

This caliper delivers high energy braking and is designed to be installed
directly onto the drive line gear box.

Wear Adjustment and Centering System (WACS) allows automatic air
gap centering and self wear compensation, for easy maintenance and
reduced costs.

Today, calipers type SHD5 equip tidal turbines : Associated to a specific
Hydraulic Power Pack, these calipers provide a gradual braking torque
application for rotor deceleration and full braking torque in case of emergency
stop.
